Permanent pacemaker implantation without fluoroscopy in a pregnant woman with complete atrioventricular block: A case report

چکیده
A 26-year-old pregnant woman in her first trimester presented with progressive fatigue. Her Electrocardiogram showed second degree heart block (Mobitz type II) with intermittent complete heart block. We decided to proceed with dual-chamber permanent pacemaker implantation using CARTO mapping system to avoid fluoroscopy exposure. A mapping catheter was inserted through the right femoral vein. An electro-anatomical map of cardiac chambers was created using the mapping catheter. Through left axillary vein access, the two pacemaker leads were successfully positioned guided by the electroanatomical map. No complications were noted post procedure. Pacemaker was functioning appropriately at follow-up visits. Copyright © 2016, Indian Heart Rhythm Society. Production and hosting by Elsevier B.V. Complete Congenital Heart Block in a Neonatal Lupus Erythematosus Associated with Pulmonary Involvement without Pacemaker Implantation: A Case Report
Background: Neonatal lupus erythematosus is an uncommon disease. Congenital complete heart block (CCHB) usually happens in neonates with maternal systemic lupus erythematosus. The most prevalent presentation of CCHBis bradycardiathatcanbediagnosed through an electrocardiogram. Case report: Here in, we present the case of a full-term male neonate with gestational age of 37 weeks and birth weigh...
متن کاملImplantation of a dual-chamber permanent pacemaker in a pregnant patient guided by intracardiac echocardiography and electroanatomic mapping
Introduction Fluoroscopy has traditionally been the primary cardiac imaging modality to guide transvenous permanent pacemaker (PPM) implantations. This entails radiation exposure, which is often at a modest dose for individual patients but can be potentially hazardous to operators after cumulative doses. In patients who are pregnant, fluoroscopy is considered contraindicated. Many authors have ...
متن کاملPermanent pacemaker implantation in a pregnant woman with rheumatic mitral valve disease.
We describe a rare case of permanent pacemaker implantation in a pregnant woman with rheumatic mitral valve disease previously undergoing percutaneous balloon valvuloplasty. She presented symptomatic advanced atrioventricular block of non-reversible cause and manifest in the third trimester of gestation.
متن کاملA Case of Transient Advanced Atrioventricular Block after Aortic Valve Replacement, Report of a Case
Approximately 3% 11.8% of cases require permanent pacemaker implantation due to atrioventricular block (AVB) after aortic valve replacement (AVR), and determination of conduction disturbances such as left or right bundle branch block by preoperative electrocardiography is correlated with high risk postoperative permanent pacemaker implantation. Intraoperative risk factors include severe calcifi...
متن کاملUtility of the NavX® Electroanatomic Mapping System for Permanent Pacemaker Implantation in a Pregnant Patient with Chagas Disease
Chagas disease is a highly prevalent zoonosis in Mexico, Central, and South America. Early cardiac involvement is one of the most serious complications of this disease, and conduction disturbances may occur at an early age. We describe a young pregnant woman with Chagas disease and a high degree atrioventricular block, who required implantation of a permanent dual chamber pacemaker. Using an el...
